Dying in the Dark

High Noon is the sixth hour of the day. The Passover full moon was already visible when the sky turned black. Fear and dread fill the minds and hearts of the people as day turns to night. Shadows fall on the countryside and hillock. Jesus is dying in the dark. People scurry home for security and protection. At the the ninth hour, the darkness is complete, and Jesus yells out from the cross. It was his death cry. Jesus’ heart stopped beating. His body goes limp. Oddly, at the moment of Jesus’ death, the temple curtain ripped open exposing the Holy of Holies to the outer world. Now, in Christ, the people and God are one. Nothing is hidden in secret. The way of full communion is shown. God and the people are finally one. Will they have eyes to see with and ears to hear with? Will they have hearts for God? Hear more...
