It may seem like you just finished your last Christmas cookie (or not,
who are we to judge? đ), but it’s already time to start thinking about Lent.
Lent will begin on Ash Wednesday, February 18 - less than a month from
now. We will have services at noon and 7 p.m.
The Lehman Lenten Luncheon Lectures tradition continues, beginning on Thursday, February 19. A lunch of soup and sandwiches will be served at noon with the Lenten study starting at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $5 per
person. Contact the church office for more information.
There will be a video and short lecture based on the book, An Unlikely Lent by Rachel Billups.
Other important dates:
â Good Friday is April 3.
â Easter Sunday is April 5.
As we have the last few years, we will participate in the United Methodist
Church Lent Photo A Day challenge for social media.
In this challenge, the UMC publishes a word for each day of Lent and we are challenged to take or create or find a photo that we connect with that word - no explanation. If you decide to join in, we hope you’ll tag us (@LehmanUMC).
If you check out what we post, we hope you’ll like, comment and share.
Social media isn’t the only way to take up this challenge - some people use it as a journal or devotion or prayer prompt - think of it as a daily Star Word during Lent. We’ll share the calendar and words once available.
