The Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry is closed Monday for Memorial Day, but here’s an update on its impact on our community from Terry Morrissette, our tireless volunteer leader:

The food pantry has been blessed this past month with several donations.  Hatboro and Horsham Post Offices ran a food drive and we benefitted with a large amount of donations. It filled the hallway.

Special thanks to Upper Moreland Senior Patrick Kieran, who held another neighborhood food drive and donated items to our pantry. Patrick also volunteered his time to assist us with the Post Office’s food drive.

We have been able to continue distributing fresh vegetables, fruits, eggs, cheese, and butter to our clients. More than 200 bags of non-perishables were distributed this past month. We continue to see a rise in new clients.

We appreciate all donations. But we cannot accept any medicine/vitamin donations, even if the bottle has not been opened. We appreciate your thoughtfulness, but we are unable to accept them. Any expired food items are disposed of as we can’t distribute them.

As always, thank you to our volunteers who help make the food pantry a success: Bob. Lisa, Sara and John, Cathy B, Cathy H, Donna, Jean, Debbie, Emma Lou, Dollie, Sabrina, Doris, Art and Sue, Barb, Charles, Esther, Sue, Marge, Mary, Vickie, Molly, Chris, Betsy and Charlie.
